Jayse Weaver, MS
Position title: Graduate Student
Jayse is a PhD student in the Department of Medical Physics. Originally from Minnesota, he received his bachelor’s degree in Physics and Mathematics from Luther College in 2016. Afterward, Jayse worked as a research technologist for the CT Clinical Innovation Center at the Mayo Clinic. He assisted medical physicists and radiologists with a variety of CT research projects. In 2019, Jayse began studying Medical Physics at UW-Madison, and decided to pivot to MRI research. Currently, his research is focused on developing new imaging techniques for quantifying myelin, and utilizing artificial intelligence to create tools to improve pediatric neuroimaging. Outside of graduate school, Jayse enjoys live music, collecting vinyl records, watching hockey, brewing coffee, and going on long walks around Madison’s beautiful neighborhoods.
